Softball Recap: South View Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South View, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Gray's Creek Bears get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Bears back in March, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

The result came thanks to JORDYNN PARNELL's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on MADDY CLARK, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

South View is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gray's Creek, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-2.

South View and Gray's Creek will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Tigers see the field they'll take on Cape Fear at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Gray's Creek, their break will end when they face Jack Britt at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
