Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 78-39 blowout they got on the road against Gray's Creek. That looming 78-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Seventy-First yet this season.
Seventy-First got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mylon Campbell out in front who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of DeAndre Nance, who scored 11 points.
Seventy-First's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Gray's Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seventy-First will take on Jack Britt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jack Britt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Seventy-First is ranked 74th). As for Gray's Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglas Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Douglas Byrd comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
