Basketball Recap: DeMotte Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against North White last Saturday, DeMotte Christian came back down to earth. The DeMotte Christian Knights took a 63-44 bruising from the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies on Tuesday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs & Fillies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why DeMotte Christian lost, don't look at Tony Bos. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tanyon Bakker, who posted ten points and six assists.

DeMotte Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Kouts, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeMotte Christian will square off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kouts, they will face off against Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kouts knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Boone Grove likes a good challenge.
