Reservoir looks for repeat in Class 3A. Also watch out for Arundel, Eleanor Roosevelt, Archbishop Spalding and Gaithersburg.

MaxPreps 2015 Maryland Baseball Fab 5 presented by the Army National Guard

1. Reservoir (Fulton)
2014 finish: 22-2
Head coach: Adam Leader

The defending Class 3A state champion might be even better this year thanks to a pitching staff that returns nearly intact from last season. Leading the way is All-American candidate Cody Morris, the Gatorade State Player of the Year as a junior. He went 8-1 on the mound with 89 strikeouts and also batted .356. Reservoir also returns pitcher Jack Barry, who went 8-0 as a junior with a .460 batting average.

2. Arundel (Gambrills)
2014 finish: 18-3
Head coach: Jason Lively



Arundel has been one of the state's top programs the past three years, with a 54-16 record. It returns four players capable of earning all-state honors in 2015, including junior centerfielder Andrew Cassard, leftfielder Brad Hagemann, infielder Will O'Hara and first baseman AJ Robinson.

3. Eleanor Roosevelt (Greenbelt)
2014 finish: 17-4
Head coach: Andrew Capece

The Raiders reached the Class 4A semifinals last year with a team consisting mainly of underclassmen. Every pitcher returns form last year's squad, topped by juniors Clark Reese (5-2) and Tyler Chotoo (4-0). Reese is also one of the top returning hitters with a .386 average and 19 RBIs. Griffin Devlin also returns after batting .388 with 16 RBIs.

4. Archbishop Spalding (Severn)
2014 finish: 25-4
Head coach: Joe Palumbo



Archbishop Spalding expects to compete for another MIAA Class A championship in 2015 behind a strong pitching staff that returns its top three starters from last year. Tyler Blohm, a left-handed junior, returns after posting a 6-1 record while senior lefthander Jordan Carr (5-2) and senior righthander Matt Binder (3-0) also return. The infield returns shortstop Kevin Heiss (.281) and third baseman Aaron Barclay (.278).

5. Gaithersburg
2014 finish: 20-3
Head coach: Jeff Rabberman

The Trojans reached the Class 4A state semifinal game and return two of the state's top juniors. Anthony Felitti, a left-handed pitcher, is ranked No. 2 in the state in the Class of 2016 by Perfect Game, while Nick Pantos, a right-handed pitcher, is ranked No. 4. Towson-bound catcher Trey Martinez is the top returning position player for Gaithersburg.
