Softball Recap: Cold Springs Sets Scoring Season-High Against Addison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cold Springs). They came out on top against the Addison Bulldogs by a score of 14-11 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Thursday, they had to take a 15-5 loss.

Kaydance Williams and Brooklyn Ingram did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Ingram went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave Ingram a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Aleah Addison, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Cold Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Cold Springs has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Addison's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cold Springs will take on Cleveland in a tournament on Friday. As for Addison, they will head out on the road to challenge Meek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
