Liberty came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Coronado Thunderbirds by a score of 2-0. The Redhawks were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Thunderbirds, so the Redhawks were just returning the favor.
Maddie Lagrone paced Liberty's offense, picking up six kills. Lagrone got some help from Riley Wong and her 11 assists. Mariana Arce controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Coronado, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Looking ahead, Liberty will challenge Eagle Mountain at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Coronado, they will take on Odessa in a tournament on Friday.
