Preview: Calvary Christian Academy vs. Tri-State Christian Crusaders
Calvary Christian Academy on the road again on Monday and play against the Tri-State Christian Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Tri-State Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Calvary Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Calvary Christian Academy beat Faith Baptist School 34-27.
Calvary Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Sadie Fournier, who scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks, and Diaya Armantrading, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Armantrading has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Malinky (HS), who scored five points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Tri-State Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on January 3rd after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Tower Hill 53-22. While losing is never fun, Tri-State Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 184th in Maryland, while Tower Hill is ranked 24th in Delaware).
The victory got Calvary Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Tri-State Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Calvary Christian Academy was taken down by Tri-State Christian 33-6 when the teams last played back in January of 2017. Thankfully for Calvary Christian Academy, Tori Thompson (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
