Soccer Game Preview: Sam Rayburn vs. Alvin

The Sam Rayburn Texans will head out on the road to challenge the Alvin Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sam Rayburn's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sam Rayburn's offense. They lost 3-0 to South Houston on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Alvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Pearland, falling 8-1. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 748th, while the Oilers are ranked 171st).

Alvin's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Sam Rayburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Sam Rayburn took their victory against Alvin in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sam Rayburn since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
