Baseball Recap: Sunnyside Takes a Loss

Sunnyside started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against West Valley. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

Jorge Moreno was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Sunnyside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Castro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Sunnyside and nudges their season record down to 3-13. As for West Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

While Sunnyside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
