Basketball Recap: Beavercreek Takes a Loss

Beavercreek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 62-46 fall against the Springfield Wildcats. The Beavers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 60-55.

Springfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayveona Boynton led the charge by going 6 for 8 to rack up 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Boynton a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Jaela Johnson, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 19 points.

Beavercreek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Springfield, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Beavercreek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-56 loss against Olentangy Orange on the 11th.
