Baseball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Riverside faced off against Adamsville on Monday. The Panthers lost 11-2 to the Cardinals. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Landon Vaughan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. Riverside is 12-1 when Vaughan posts two or more runs, but 6-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Anderson Thompson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Adamsville, they pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Riverside will take on Westview at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Adamsville, they will face off against Milan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
