Basketball Game Preview: Newport - Bellevue Knights vs. Lincoln Lynx

The Newport - Bellevue Knights will head out to face off against the Lincoln Lynx at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Newport - Bellevue is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Newport - Bellevue lost 67-46 to Eastlake on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Wolves are ranked 80th).

Despite the defeat, Newport - Bellevue got top-tier performance from Portia Polo, who went 9 of 16 to rack up 23 points and three steals. That was a full 50% of Newport - Bellevue's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Elie De Leon, who put up four points in addition to eight boards and five blocks.

Meanwhile, Lincoln hadn't done well against Eastside Catholic recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Lincoln had just enough and edged Eastside Catholic out 47-44.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Newport - Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
