Baseball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Lewis-Palmer dropped their record down to 17-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Lutheran Lions by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Thursday.

Hunter Morgan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

As for Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Lutheran's side, they got a great performance from Landry Warner as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Lutheran's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Misch, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Tyce Macnamara, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Lewis-Palmer has already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against Mullen on the 12th. As for Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Severance at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Silver Knights a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
