Softball Recap: Foresthill Comes Up Short

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, Foresthill was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Buckingham Charter Knights. If the Wildfires were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lynnsey Drone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Foresthill's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Buckingham Charter, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Foresthill will be playing in front of their home fans against Encina at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Buckingham Charter, they will head out on the road to take on Faith Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
