Softball Recap: New Rochelle Huguenots vs. White Plains Tigers

New Rochelle extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They lost 13-1 to the White Plains Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huguenots of the 7-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

As for White Plains, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

For White Plains' part, Alexis Tighe made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tighe has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. That's the most doubles Galligani has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Neela Older, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.

Coming up, New Rochelle will head out to face off against Pelham Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for White Plains, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-0 victory against Harrison on the 17th.
