Basketball Recap: Del Norte Comes Up Short

Del Norte suffered their biggest defeat since January 7th on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Bernalillo Spartans 53-26. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent loss being a 35-25 defeat two weeks ago.

Bernalillo found their leader in sophomore Trinity Calabaza, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and six steals. What's more, Calabaza posted four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Samaria Brown, who put up eight points and 12 rebounds.

Del Norte has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. The win was the third in a row for Bernalillo, bringing their record for this year to 13-15.

As of now, neither Del Norte nor Bernalillo have any future games scheduled.
