Thomas Ashby Puts an End to Hillcrest's Losing Streak on Wednesday
Hillcrest's 16-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Thomas Ashby. On Wednesday Ashby made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run.
Hillcrest's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. Ashby will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Jordan on Wednesday.

Thanks in part to Charlie Brown, Hillcrest said goodbye to their 16-game losing streak dating back to last season. Brown was dynamite on Wednesday, rushing for ten yards.

Vaughn Gritzmacher Delivers Electric Performance Vs Park City
Tooele had to settle for second on Thursday, but Vaughn Gritzmacher sure wasn't going down easily. Park City had no answer to Gritzmacher as he rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards.
On the year, Gritzmacher has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 132.9 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 52.33 rushing yards per game.

While Murray might've come up empty on Thursday, Conner Whitehead wasn't going down without a fight. Whitehead was unstoppable, picking up 28 receiving yards.
With the loss, Murray broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4. Whitehead and Murray will challenge Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Dearden Made His Presence Known in Stansbury's 36-15 Win
Coleman Dearden posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Thursday. He rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Dearden is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Tooele on Friday. When Dearden last faced the Buffaloes back in October of 2023, he threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards.
