Softball Recap: Sitka Beats Ketchikan for Their Sixth Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Sitka rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Ketchikan Kings. Considering the Wolves have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Sitka's sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-14-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Ketchikan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-18-2 record this season.

Sitka will challenge Soldotna at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ketchikan, they will square off against Delta at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.05 runs per game on average), something the Kings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
