Basketball Recap: Bonanza Comes Up Short at Home Against Del Sol

Bonanza unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Del Sol Dragons on Monday, falling 67-12. The Bengals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-6.

Despite the loss, Bonanza still got an impressive performance from Symyah Mikell, who posted six points.

Del Sol's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sabrina Stewart, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Ricana Taylor, who put up 17 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Bonanza wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-16 victory against Amplus Academy on the 3rd. As for Del Sol, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-43 win against Canyon Springs on the 5th.
