Baseball Recap: Winthrop Takes a Loss

Winthrop made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Monmouth Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Ramblers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Ramblers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Winthrop now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Monmouth Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Winthrop is set to square off against their familiar foe Mount Abram at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ramblers 3.6, the Roadrunners 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Monmouth Academy will face off against rival Mountain Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
