Softball Recap: Cleveland Blue Raiders vs. Hixson Wildcats
Cleveland gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Hixson Wildcats as the Cleveland Blue Raiders made off with a 10-4 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Huntlee Dennison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Aspen Tipton-Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Lily Mason was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Tipton-Williams wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cleveland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cleveland is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Chattanooga Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hixson, they will challenge Girls Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
