Softball Recap: Desert Ridge Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Gilbert last Thursday, Desert Ridge came back down to earth. Desert Ridge came up short against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs on Friday, falling 12-2. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Desert Ridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacee Larson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Even though they lost, Desert Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Desert Ridge's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-5. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Ridge will take on Red Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Mountain will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will challenge Centennial at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
