Baseball Recap: El Monte Lions vs. Mountain View Vikings
El Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mountain View Vikings, falling 8-2. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
El Monte saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cesar Castro, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run was Castro's first of the season.
El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Mountain View, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Coincidentally, El Monte and Mountain View will both be playing Marshall the next time they take the field. The Lions will head out to face the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
