Baseball Recap: Robinson Takes a Loss

Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Concord Spiders, falling 12-3. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spiders earlier this season, when they won 11-2.

Jake Barbee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Paxton Carter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Robinson's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Concord, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robinson will challenge Northwest Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.11 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Concord, they will take on Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Spiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
