Metea Valley was the clear victor by a 20-0 margin over Batavia. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Charlie Benesh made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Grace Feeley was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Olivia Wipff was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Glenbard North ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Benet Academy 3-2. The victory was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Avery Miller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tru Medina, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Medina is crushing it when it comes to home runs: she's launched at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Metea Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Glenbard North, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Metea Valley skirted past Glenbard North 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Metea Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
