Soccer Game Preview: Lakeside vs. Star City

Lakeside is 0-3 against Star City since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Beavers will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

Lakeside came up short against Baptist Prep last Monday, falling 6-3.

Meanwhile, Star City hadn't done well against Warren recently (they were 0-7-2 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs beat the Lumberjacks by a goal, winning 1-0. Winning may never get old, but Star City sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Star City's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matches. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lakeside might still be hurting after the 8-3 loss they got from Star City when the teams last played back in March of 2018. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
