Soccer Recap: La Joya Community's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, La Joya Community brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mingus Marauders a 5-0 shutout on Friday. Nathan Soto was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The win snapped La Joya Community's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5-1 record. As for Mingus, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

La Joya Community wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Eastmark on the 3rd. As for Mingus, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Prescott at 6:00 p.m. on January 15th.
