Volleyball Game Preview: Sunrise Mountain Mustangs vs. Ironwood Eagles

The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Ironwood Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Sunrise Mountain turned things around against Kellis on Monday. They blew past the Cougars 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sunrise Mountain was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-15.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Ironwood sidestepped Centennial for a 3-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Ironwood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 16-14.

Sunrise Mountain's record now sits at 18-14. As for Ironwood, their record is now 13-14.

Everything went Sunrise Mountain's way against Ironwood when the teams last played on April 11th, as Sunrise Mountain made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
