Shiprock had lost five straight headed into Monday's game, but Ashton Keith didn't let it get to six. The Shiprock Chieftains came out on top against the Miyamura Patriots by a score of 52-43 on Monday which was due in part to Keith, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.
Shiprock's win bumped their record up to 4-23. As for Miyamura, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-21.
Shiprock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-46 defeat against Gallup on the 26th. Miyamura does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
