Basketball Recap: Jefferson-Morgan Comes Up Short

If Jefferson-Morgan was feeling good fresh off their 51-28 takedown of Carmichaels last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers on Friday. The contest marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson-Morgan lost, don't look at Jeremiah Robertson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Robertson has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dayten Marion, who posted four points in addition to nine blocks and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Jefferson-Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 14-7. As for Chartiers-Houston, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.
