Poteet and Seagoville are an even 2-2 against one another since January of 2023, but likely not for long. The Poteet Pirates will challenge the Seagoville Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seagoville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Poteet, who comes in off a win.

Poteet is headed into the contest having not lost since January 17 and will look to keep things rolling. Everything went their way against Spruce on Monday as Poteet made off with a 6-0 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Seagoville fell victim to North Mesquite and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Stallions. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 578th, while the Stallions are ranked 84th).

Poteet pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those seven matches. As for Seagoville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Everything went Poteet's way against Seagoville in their previous matchup back in January, as Poteet made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poteet since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
