Recap: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Hudson Cobras
The Weeki Wachee Hornets's game back in December of 2023 was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They strolled past Hudson with points to spare, taking the game 73-59. That 14 points margin sets a new team best for Weeki Wachee this season.
It was another big night for Isaac Priester, who scored 34 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Jean Garcia, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Tejacion Chapman and Jowell Andujar certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Chapman scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Andujar scored 15 points. Chapman is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Huggan, who scored five points.
Weeki Wachee's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Hudson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Weeki Wachee will head out on the road to square off against Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springstead is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.3 points per game. Hudson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fivay at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Fivay is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.7 points per game.
