Football Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy Flashes vs. Interlachen Rams + How To Watch

The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will take on the Interlachen Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Joseph Academy has eight straight wins, Interlachen has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, St. Joseph Academy earned a 26-17 victory over Oak Hall.

A big part of St. Joseph Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Cody Ott and his top target Camden Coffindaffer. Ott rushed for 71 yards and one score while Coffindaffer gained 135 total yards and three touchdowns.

One reason for the win was St. Joseph Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Asher Glisson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Interlachen played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Hilliard, falling 54-34.

Despite the loss, Interlachen saw an underclassman step up: freshman DJ McKinnon rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 236 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Those 108 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for McKinnon. Another player making a difference was Brody Stevens, who rushed for 65 yards and a pair of scores.

St. Joseph Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Interlachen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

St. Joseph Academy might still be hurting after the 42-18 loss they got from Interlachen when the teams last played back in October of 2024.
