Fredericksburg Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Johnson, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Johnson has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.
Meanwhile, Westmoreland had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Chargers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Emma Burgess made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Burgess was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Wheeler was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lydia Hawkins, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
Westmoreland's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Fredericksburg Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Westmoreland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fredericksburg Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. It's a different story for Westmoreland, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain Fredericksburg Christian's hitters?
Fredericksburg Christian took their win against Westmoreland in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-2 score.
