Volleyball Recap: Warrensburg-Latham Comes Up Short

Warrensburg-Latham lost against Shelbyville on Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Emma Whightsil paced Warrensburg-Latham's offense, picking up seven kills. Whightsil also shared the team's lead in assists with Audrey Billingsley: they picked up nine each.

Shelbyville can attribute much of their success to Brooklyn Lynch, who had 12 digs. Lynch is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Tailyn Hancock also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Warrensburg-Latham's defeat dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Shelbyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

Warrensburg-Latham will be playing in front of their home fans against Maroa-Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shelbyville, they will head out to face off against Effingham at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
