Baseball Recap: Plainfield Central Takes a Loss

Plainfield Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Joliet West on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Plainfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 25-7. As for Joliet West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-15 record this season.

While Plainfield Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
