Avery Frese was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Simon Rabe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.
Mendon Unity wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Macomb on the 21st. As for Peoria Heights, they will take on Genoa-Kingston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
