Baseball Recap: West Valley Has No Trouble Against United Christian Academy

West Valley won the last time they faced United Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 14-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Vincent Figueroa was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Juarez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for West Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

West Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

West Valley's record is now 14-11. As for United Christian Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Coming up, West Valley will head out to square off against Elsinore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for United Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sherman Indian at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
