Volleyball Recap: Whittier Christian Comes Up Short

Whittier Christian suffered their biggest defeat since March 13th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Village Christian Crusaders. The Heralds have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

While Whittier Christian was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Village Christian's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.

RJ Nunez was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 12 digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Whittier Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Village Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-12.

Whittier Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Westminster on the 29th. As for Village Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Desert Christian on the 28th.
