Sparkman is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Greenwood. The Senators had just enough and edged out the Gators 5-4. The victory was nothing new for the Senators as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kara Burman made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Burman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Laila Watkins, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games.

Sparkman's win bumped their record up to 26-9-1. As for Greenwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Sparkman will be playing at home against Huntsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Lafayette at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gators 1.9, the Generals 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
