Preview: Willow Lions vs. De La Salle Cavalier
Willow is 2-8 against De La Salle since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Willow Lions will head out on the road to square off against the De La Salle Cavalier at 5:30 p.m. Willow is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Willow, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-35 loss to Booker T. Washington. While losing is never fun, Willow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Booker T. Washington is ranked 111th).
Meanwhile, De La Salle's game on Tuesday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 45-33 to Salmen. De La Salle has struggled against Salmen recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Willow has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for De La Salle, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-16.
Willow was taken down by De La Salle 46-11 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Willow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
