Baseball Game Preview: Life Christian Academy Eagles vs. Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks

The Life Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Life Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Life Christian Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot. They had just enough and edged out the Knights 7-6. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jason Theiss made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Radcliff, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Graham Powers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Life Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Atlantic Shores Christian faced Greenbrier Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Seahawks fell just short of the Gators by a score of 4-3. The Seahawks have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

The victory snapped Life Christian Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
