Football Recap: Aliso Niguel Wolverines vs. Fountain Valley Barons

Aliso Niguel barely beat Fountain Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 31-10 margin over the Barons on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolverines' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Barons are ranked 497th).

Aliso Niguel had a senior duo take command as Carter Vestermark threw for 273 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt and Dane Malloy picked up 156 receiving yards and one touchdown. Malloy's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Aliso Niguel's defense and their three sacks. Corey Lewis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.
