Basketball Game Preview: Alex Longhorns vs. Sterling Tigers

The Alex Longhorns are taking a road trip to challenge the Sterling Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Alex came up short against Amber-Pocasset and fell 54-44. The Longhorns have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They blew past Ninnekah, posting a 63-19 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Alex's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Sterling, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Alex came up short against Sterling when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 49-39. Can Alex avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
