Recap: Washington Blue Lions vs. St. Charles Cardinals
The Washington Blue Lions had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over St. Charles. This was payback for Washington, who suffered a 47-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John Wall led the charge by scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Haithcock, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Washington's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Charles, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will square off against Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Charles, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastmoor Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
