            Basketball Recap: Hazen Bison vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux        
        
		
        
        
            Hazen was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They had to suffer through a   85-40 loss at the hands of the Westhope/Newburg Sioux. The Bison were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  52-16.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westhope/Newburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Walker Braaten, who  went 11 of 16  on his way to 24  points and five  steals. The  match was  Braaten's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Braden Bailey, who  went 9 for 13  on his way to 23  points in addition to five  assists and three  steals.
Hazen's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Westhope/Newburg, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
 Hazen will host Wilton/Wing  at 4:30  p.m.  on January 6, 2025. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will venture away from home to  square off against Turtle Mountain  at 6:45  p.m.  on Friday.
