Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Round Rock Christian Academy). They blew past the Vanguard College Prep Vikings 13-6 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Jesse Wehba and Ryan Lieder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wehba pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lieder struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Wehba also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Round Rock Christian Academy is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-7 otherwise. At the plate, Wehba scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Lieder went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave Lieder a new career-high.

In other batting news, Miles Gittinger was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Round Rock Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ethan Leverenz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Round Rock Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Round Rock Christian Academy's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Vanguard College Prep, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
