Enumclaw extended their winning streak to 18 on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 20-2 in the process. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Peninsula Seahawks. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Enumclaw got a great performance from Alyssa Harris as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Harris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alyssa Neal was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Nadia Flaherty, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Enumclaw kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 20 consecutive games.
As for Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. They haven't had much luck with Enumclaw recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
