Basketball Recap: Harding County Find Success

Harding County picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They managed a 65-61 victory over the Beach Buccaneers.

Harding County found their leader in freshman Ryder Hunsucker, who shot 7-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. Hunsucker is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season. Casey Lindholm was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Harding County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Harding County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Beach, their record is now 0-2.

Harding County and Beach will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Ranchers see the court they'll take on Edgemont at 1:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Beach, their break will end when they face Killdeer at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
