Baseball Recap: Valmeyer Pirates vs. Steeleville Warriors
Valmeyer hadn't done well against Steeleville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Warriors 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Tuesday.
Valmeyer got a great performance from Tallen Jakimauskas as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Landon Roy and Chase Snyder did most of the damage at the plate: Roy went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Snyder got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Valmeyer is undefeated when Roy posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Blanchard, who went 2-for-4 with one triple.
